Yesterday we left Copenhagen to ride to Helsingør. All in, it was roughly a 30 mile ride, but we made lots of cool stops along the way that kept it very manageable. The ride was along the beautiful coast line and the sun was shining the whole time. Our first stop was at Nordhavn, a new neighborhood on Copenhagen’s newly built coast. Man made outcroppings from the mainland provide land to build more homes. Most of the apartments have 6 floors, but a few that are built from repurposed cylos stand taller.
After that, our group split up and we all made our way north at our own pace. I biked with 7 other folks for most of it, our pace was the same, we wanted to stop at the same destinations, and Ryan had a speaker. Our next stop was at Bakken, the oldest amusement park in the world. It opened in 1583 and has many little attractions, rides, and rollercoasters. We we’re able to ride a bunch of the rides and we had such a great time.
From there, we biked through lots of charming towns of cute little houses with picket fences and thatched roofs. We briefly stopped at the Louisiana Museum and a few people stayed to look around, but I kept going to Helsingør. Our hostel is very cool, It is right on the sea and has a great view of Sweden and the castle in town.
