WE MADE IT!! It was about 100 miles from Copenhagen to Helsingør to Helsingborg to Ven to Malmö and every moment was absolutely stunning. We were able to bike through golden fields, along sunny coastlines, by small farms, and around cute towns. On our ride into Malmö, we were able to stop and talk with a woman who was feeding her cows and she recommended we go into the next town down the road and get some ice cream by the shore. We took her advice and it was such a good decision. They had lots of flavors and I got a citrus cactus sorbet that hit the spot.
We made it into Malmö in the early afternoon and then we had some time to explore before a big group dinner. I went into the city center with a couple other folks and we stopped in a beautiful old church. There were lots of crypts on the floor and I thought it was really cool to see all of those. My favorite part of exploring the church was when I made a comment about the crypts to Tenley but she hadn’t realized what they were and as soon as she did she got spooked and ran right out of the church.
We had a big group pizza dinner at a park that evening. The park had a crazy playground with some insane slides. From there we went on a walking tour of some of the new development in Malmö. Many new apartments and townhouses have been put in along the coast in the old industrial area. The streets were designed to break the wind and not create wind tunnels. A few homes backed right up onto a little creek and I was ready to move on into one of those. We ended the tour by a park on the waterfront where there was live music and I got rhubarb sorbet.
